Coming & going

Albany has goo transport connections with Amtrak (website trains to Buffalo and New York City from the station at 525 East Street.

The bus station at 34 Hamilton Street has Greyhound (website buses to Buffalo and New York City and Adirondack Trailways (tel 1800 776 7548; website buses to Kingston and Lake Placid.

Chinatown bus operators AA Bus and Dragon go to New York City from stops at 120 Central Avenue and 640 Washington Avenue.

Albany History, 1777 to 1861

Features database driven information from the period in five categories: bibliography, real property, people, chronology, and archives. The chronology section currently is the most developed and features verbatim entries from Munsell’s "Notes from Newspapers." Other historical events from the period provide local, state, national, and world perspective, with emphasis, on items of interest to or impact on Albanians. To find out - make your way to downtown Albany. Open the "Albany: Then & Now" app on your mobile phone and click on the "View Map" button. On the map, the red arrows reference the more than 130 historical photographs in our collection.
